What is a Predictive Dialer?
An automated phone dialer that connects only live answers to agents. The dialer usually makes calls on multiple lines and either skips answering machines or leaves a message. When a live person is detected, the software hands the call to you or an agent, then helpfully pops up an information window with information about the person.
What is a Power dialer or Speed Dialer?
A semi-automatic dialer that you operate by pressing keys, which dial numbers, play pre-recorded messages, transfer calls or record conversations.

Predictive dialers normally connects the live answer call to an agent. Voicent's Agent Dialer predictive dialer software connects the call to an agent's computer. The agent uses a computer headset to talk.
As soon as a call is connected, a popup is displayed on the agent's screen. The window includes the caller's name and number and can be used to enter notes about the caller. In subsequent calls, those notes will be available to agents.
How do I setup Agent Dialer predictive dialer so calls are forwarded to my agents?
Download and install AgentDialer software on a computer. This computer will make all the outbound calls.
Configure Voicent Agent Dialer to use a phone service of your choice. This can be a VOIP/SIP service over the internet or your company's PBX system.
Download and install Voicent RemoteAgent software on each agent's computer.
Give each agent a computer headset so they can talk with your customers on the phone.
When an agent is ready to work, start Voicent Remote Agent software and login.
Load your call list and click the Start Predictive Dialing Button.

What do I need to run Voicent Agent Dialer?
Voicent Agent Dialer is a software only solution. You do not need any special hardware. Basically, all you need is a computer with internet connection.
You also need a phone service so Agent Dialer can make outbound calls. This service can be VOIP/SIP internet service or just your company's PBX system.
If you have multiple agents, each needs a computer. Optionally, each needs a computer headset to talk.
What happens when Agent Dialer connects with a live person?
The software locates an available agent
The call audio is directed to that aAgent's computer
A screen popup with information about the call is displayed on the agent's computer. Optionally, a short beep is played to alert the agent for the incoming connection.
The agent answers the call using a computer headset.

What can an agent do when a call is connected?
The agent can record the phone conversation. (Recording can also be forced by campaign settings)
The agent can transfer the call to another agent
The agent can access a dial pad to enter touch tone keys if required.
The agent can press a button to play a pre-recorded audio message.
The agent can enter call notes. The notes will be displayed and saved in the campaign spreadsheet window.
How do I control the dialing speed?
First, the software does not make new outbound calls if all agents are busy. (It is possible certain calls have been started already.)
You can increase or reduce the number of lines for a campaign. The fewer lines you use, the slower the campaign goes.
You can set call interval on Voicent Gateway so that only a certain number of calls are made for a given time period.
You can setup predictive dialing options for speed control.
What's the difference between an auto dialer and a predictive dialer?
The main difference is how a call is connected to an agent. For auto dialer, the recipient must press a key in order to connect to an agent; while for predictive dialing, the call connect is automatic for live answered call. This difference makes the usage model quite different from the two dialers.
Predictive dialer requires agents sit in front of their computers. If a call is answered by a live human, the system will show a pop up window on an agent's computer. The agent should answer the call promptly, otherwise the recipient is likely to hangup the phone.
Auto dialer, on the other hand, can expect the recipient wait for the phone to be connected to an agent. So the transfer does not have to be immediate and thus possible to transfer calls to a cell phone. This allows agents not to sit in front of computer in order to answer the call.
Normally, auto dialer plays a pre-recorded audio message after a recipient says hello. However, Voicent predictive dialer can do the same. The only difference is that in predictive dialing mode, the call connection is automatic after the audio message is played.
Voicent Agent Dialer is also a speed dialer when using the semi-automatic dialing mode.
How many agents can Voicent's Agent Dialer predictive dialer support?
No limit from Voicent. The maximum capacity depends on your computer power and your internet bandwidth. For details of hardware requirements, please see System Requirement.
Unlike hardware based solutions, Voicent's Agent Dialer predictive dialer does not need a hardware “port” for each agent or physical lines. The flexibility allows easy configuration of agents. They can work at the office or at home.
