Quick Questions

What is a PBX?

A private branch exchange (PBX) is a telephone exchange for a particular business. A PBX system connects incoming telephone lines to a set of extensions inside a business.

VOIP PBX or IP is a PBX system that can handle calls on an IP network. It supports outbound connection to a SIP trunk or regular trunk; it also supports IP extensions. Most VOIP services provide regular telephone numbers to allow calls from landline or cell phones. The person who calls these numbers usually cannot tell the difference whether the call is make to a VOIP service or traditional PSTN service.

What is Voicent's Flex PBX?

Flex PBX is an affordable and easy to use auto attendant software system. Because it is a software package, it offers flexible configuration and unlimited design capability. It has all the features of a traditional PBX plus much more.

What is an Auto Attendant?

Also known as a Virtual Receptionist, it allows callers to be automatically transferred to an extension without the intervention of a live operator. Typically the Auto Attendant is included in a business phone system.

What is an IVR Menu?

ASR & Text To Speech

Voicent Flex PBX is unique in that it allows you to use a Text To Speech plugin. Using a computer generated voice comes in handy when you need to read dynamic text; for example, you can use Text To Speech to speak the time of day, day of the week, or even the name of holidays. Voicent PBX also has Automated Speech Recognition, so callers can say speech commands in addition to typing keypad buttons.

Speak Dynamic Text

Text to speech is the best tool to use when you need to include messages that change often, such as time of day or day of the week. Otherwise, you would be stuck with generic greetings. Voicent's Text to Speech plugin is software that you can add to your PBX purchase.

Greet Callers By Name

Personalize PBX greetings by using Text to Speech greet callers by their name or other CRM information. If the caller is a first-time caller, Virtual Receptionist can play a different Auto Attendant greeting.

Automated Greetings

Automated greetings spoken by text to speech are a great option to keep your business phone professional and impersonal--perfect for governments, banks, and large enterprises. Voicent's Text to Speech plugin has male and female voices with different accents and languages.

Accept Speech Commands

Voicent's PBX software can process and respond to voice commands spoken in response to Auto Attendant menus, so callers don't have to enter in long message through their keypad.

Automated Responses

Voicent PBX accepts and automatically processes your callers' responses to Auto Attendant menus; with Text to Speech, you can repeat the caller's choice for verification purposes. You can also have your Voicent PBX system to respond differently to different keypad responses with text-to-speech.

Multi-lingual Text to Speech

Multi-lingual text to speech comes in handy when you have overseas business phones for international callers. Simply select the language you want your PBX greeting and menu options to be spoken in.

Speak CRM Information

For more advanced phone menu systems, you can use Text-to-Speech to speak information that cannot be recorded before-hand. For example, use TTS for giving callers their bank statements, or account statuses.

IVR Studio

If you are interested in fetching and retrieving CRM information with phone menus, take a look at IVR Studio, Voicent's interactive voice response software that connects to databases, websites, and email.
