There are two basic methods to interface with Voicent software:

• Use Import and Export
• Use Programming Interface

Use Import And Export Method

Import and export require minimum manual operations. To import appointments to Voicent AutoReminder, the import file must be a CSV text file (comma separated value) AND conform to AutoReminder Import File Format.

If the exported file is a text file but of a different format, then a conversion program must be written to convert it to the Auto Reminder format. Once a conversion program is installed with AutoReminder, your appointment file can be imported directly to AutoReminder.

Most EMR, billing, scheduling, and office management software have a way to export appointments to a text file. But the format usually requires conversion. You can have your own IT engineers or hire someone on the internet to write the conversion program for you. All the required format information is published on Voicent's website.

Our technicall support team can also write the conversion program for you. We have done many integration projects and we have created a software library we can reuse. With reuse, we do not have to create every custom project from scratch. The normal cost for a conversion project is about $800.The pricing largely depends on the original format and how easy it is to convert. To get a quote, just send us a sample exported file.

Use Programming Interface

This is the preferred way for integration. With AutoReminder's programming interface, your EMI, billing, scheduling, and office management software can communicate with each other and operate seamlessly. For example, once an appointment is created, the reminder call can be automatically added to AutoReminder without any end user intervention.

This method, however, can only be implemented by the software vendor. You can contact your software provider and request they do the integration for you. All required information is published on Voicent's website.

If you are the medical software provider, take a look at AutoReminder's HTTP interface and command line interface, Through these programming interfaces, your software program can integrate/drive Voicent AutoReminder software. For example, if you have a scheduling software and want to use Voicent for appointment reminder calls only, you can send a call request to Voicent program through this HTTP interface, after a new appointment is created in your program. After the call is made, your software can query the call status and show the call status in your scheduling program. All these can be accomplished without user intervention. Because HTTP is widely supported, you can use almost any major programming language to write your code.

You need AutoReminder with multiple users support. For example, if you have five providers in the office, get a 5-user license. The default configuration of AutoReminder has one user. You can add users any time.

There is not much to setup. All you need to do is add a calendar user for each doctor to the AutoReminder program. With a multi-user license, you get the following benefits:

• Each doctor has his or her own personalized reminder message.
• Color-coded appointment display in the appointment calendar.
• Calendar filters to show appointments for a particular doctor.
• Each doctor has his own call reminder report.

You need AutoReminder Enterprise Edition. If you have multiple providers/users, you also need a multi-user license (see the above topic). Each Enterprise edition user comes with one remote access. So if you have an enterprise edition with five users, you can have 5 simultaneous accesses to the appointment data.

To setup:

• Use one computer as the server computer. Run AutoReminder, select View > Setup Client Server from the program main menu; select "allow web access and remote client access"
• On other computers, run AutoReminder, select View > Setup Client Server from the program main menu; select "Run as Remote Client".

Yes, for some phone services.

If you use a voice modem and an analog phone line in your office, then the caller ID will be whatever the number is associated with that phone line.

For VOIP/SIP service, it depends on whether they allow you setup the caller ID or not. For example, SkypeConnect service allows you to associate the caller ID with your office number after they verify the number is indeed yours.

For other VOIP serivces, they are likely to display the caller ID as the phone number that you purchased for the account.

Voicent Text-to-Speech plugIn enables any TTS voice/engine to be used with a phone call, so you are free to choose your TTS voice.

Microsoft Windows operating system includes free TTS voice. On Windows XP, it is called Microsoft Mary or Microsoft Sam. These voices do not have good voice quality and is not recommended to be used for commercial use. On Windows Vista or later OS, the free voice is called Microsoft Anna, which is a much better voice.
