Quick Questions

What is a PBX?

A private branch exchange (PBX) is a telephone exchange for a particular business. A PBX system connects incoming telephone lines to a set of extensions inside a business.

What is VOIP or IP PBX?

VOIP PBX or IP is a PBX system that can handle calls on an IP network. It supports outbound connection to a SIP trunk or regular trunk; it also supports IP extensions. Most VOIP services provide regular telephone numbers to allow calls from landline or cell phones. The person who calls these numbers usually cannot tell the difference whether the call is make to a VOIP service or traditional PSTN service.

What is Voicent's Flex PBX?

Flex PBX is an affordable and easy to use auto attendant software system. Because it is a software package, it offers flexible configuration and unlimited design capability. It has all the features of a traditional PBX plus much more.

What is an Auto Attendant?

Also known as a Virtual Receptionist, it allows callers to be automatically transferred to an extension without the intervention of a live operator. Typically the Auto Attendant is included in a business phone system.

What is an IVR Menu?

A phone system menu that interacts with humans through the use of voice and DTMF keypad inputs. Auto attendant is a special kind IVR, where the target operation is the transfer of a call to an extension. IVR can be more broadly defined. It can interact with a database to supply requested information such as account balances, etc.

Use Your Existing Business Phone Number

If you're using Voicent's on-premise PBX software, you won't have to wait for us to port phone numbers or apply for a custom phone number. You can use whatever custom phone number you want, in any country. For Voicent's hosted service, however, you must be in the US or Canada, and you'll get a phone number in your area code.

Instant Caller ID Setup (On-premise)

You don't have to wait for your phone numbers to be ported into our service. Simply add any of your existing phone numbers to Voicent's PBX software settings, along with your existing phone service.

1 Phone Number

If you want to simplify things, you can choose to use only 1 phone number to unify your business phone system. All calls will be made to this main number and the Voicent Auto Attendant will route the calls to department extensions and agents extensions.

1 Phone Bill, Multi-Locations

If you're using Voicent's hosted service, you can have agents using Voicent PBX from anywhere with internet connection. Even with multiple locations, we'll only hand you 1 phone bill once a month.

1-800 Number Forwarding

For Voicent's hosted service, we'll give you a phone number with your area code. That said, you can set up your existing 1-800 number to forward to this PBX number. Your callers won't detect any difference.

Add Extensions and Departments

Adding extensions and departments is easy; simply use Voicent's PBX Setup tab to create new extensions and departments. You can also group your agents, and give that group their own extension.

Unlimited Extensions

Organize your business into separate departments, each with their own extension so agents within those departments share those extensions. Or, give each agent their own extension for callers to get quick access to an agent they want to speak with.

Multiple Phone Numbers

Voicent doesn't confine you to using only 1 business phone number. You can add as many phone numbers as you want. Plus, you can set up different Virtual Receptionists for each phone number. For example, if you have phone numbers for different countries, you can create Virtual Receptionists in different languages with pre-recorded greetings and text-to-speech.
